薛城区地处我省的南部,是我省的南大门,也是煤炭生产的重要基地。目前,全区公路通车里程达140余公里,基本形成了以郯——徽、兰——薛两条干线公路为动脉、区乡支线公路相连通的公路网络,从事营业性运输的机动车辆达到2200台,比一九八○年增长了3.2倍,交通运输事业的发展,给我们的交通管理工作提出了更高的求,为了适应形势发展的需要,特别是道路交通管理体制改革之后出现的新形势,我们在如何充分发挥交通检查站的职能作用,推动交通管理工作的全面发展方面做出了一些工作。
