In space environment, the memory on small satellites shows a small probability of error due to the single event flip-flop effect (SEC) caused by radiation. This paper introduces the principle of error correction design of [12, 8] Hamming code, discusses the method of implementing error correction coder (EDAC) in VHDL language, and finally realizes it with FPGA
