1982年6月20日,我国驻美使馆组织,第一次举办了有我国留美访问学者、研究生和美籍华人学者参加的大型集会。集会地点在纽约州立大学石溪分校。在该校任教的著名物理学家杨振宁先生也参加了集会,并作了重要讲话。我院在该校学习的电化系贺铎民讲师,负责大会接待工作。为此,他提供了杨振宁先生的讲话录音。我们认为:杨先生讲话中所谈到的有关我国的传统教育、学习方法、研究工作,是大家都关心的问题,同时,基于他对美国教育界有较深的了解,因此,有的看法对我们有所启迪。现请冯一丁讲师根据录音将讲话的主要内容整理如下。
