我县适于种棉。随着农村改革的深入,农业商品经济发展,群众迫压要求良种。1986年,我们从中国农科院棉花研究所引进少量的中棉12号,在品种试验中,亩产70.5公斤,居第二位,较对照豫棉一号增产11.5%。1988年中棉12种植面积在我县迅速扩大,成为当家品种,全县共种棉花26.43万亩。其中:中棉12占25万亩。在当年旱灾严重的情况下,预计全县平均亩产达62公斤。
My county suitable for cotton. With the deepening of rural reform and the development of agricultural commodity economy, the masses are pressing for improved varieties. In 1986, we introduced a small amount of Zhongmian 12 from the Cotton Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. In the trial of variety, we produced 70.5 kg per mu, ranking the second place, up 11.5% over the control Yumian No.1. In 1988, the planting area of 12 cotton plants expanded rapidly in our county and became the dominant species. The total cotton planting area was 264,300 mu. Of which: Cotton 12 accounted for 25 million mu. In the case of severe drought in that year, it is estimated that the county average yield per mu amounts to 62 kilograms.
