This is the first article in The Australian Economy (Third Edition) edited by Peter Kriesler, published by Allen & Unwin in 1999, and edited by The book, edited by Mr. Chrissler, himself, aims to give a brief overview of Australia’s economic development after the “Asian Crisis,” and provides an introductory overview of the proceedings. We translate this article to recommend this essay to readers who are interested in studying the current state of economic development in Australia. Peter, Mr. Chrisler is a professor at the University of New South Wales School of Economics and serves as the deputy director of the Center for Applied Economics and the Australian Center for Human Rights.
