In this study, three-fifth grade pupils with well-developed and maladaptive characteristics were selected as subjects, questionnaires were used to investigate their favorite and dislike self-expression characteristics, as well as their understanding of the connotation of ideal features. The results showed that the two groups of subjects showed the richness, affinity and reality difference in the choice of self-expression characteristics and the connotation of ideal self-characteristics. By analyzing the correlation between these results, this paper explores some of the mechanisms by which children at different levels of adaptation develop their self-regulation tendency.
