Objective:To observe the curative effect,toxi and side-effect of Tripterygium Wilfordii complex ester tablet(TWT,a preparation of Folium Tripterygium Wilfordii)in treating rheumatois arthritis.Methods:277 patients were observed with prospective,multicentric and ran domdouble-blind control method.140 cases of TWT group were treated with TWT2 tablets eachtime,3 times aday or ally,and the other 137 cases treated with Tripterygium wilfor diipolycoside tablet(TPT,a preparation of Radix Tripterygium wilfordii)2 tablets eachtim ewere taken as control,3 times aday or ally.The ther apeutic course for both group sw as 6 weeks.Results:Them arkedlycontrolledrate of the TWT groupwas 26.71% and the to tal effec tiverate was86.43%,while those in the control group were 26.28% and 83.94% respe ctively,the difference between the two groups was in signifi cant(P＞0.05).The occurrence of side-effect in the tw roups was 2O.OO%and23.35%respectively,also showed no signifi can tdifference(P 0.05) .Conclusin:The Folium Tripterygium Wilfordii preparation is similar in effect and security to the Radix Tripterygium Wilfordii preparation.
