纺织工业是我国传统的支柱产业,有着悠久的历史。经建国以来40年的建设,我国现已成为世界主要的纺织品生产大国。1990年,我国纺织工业总产值为1 361亿元,纺织品出口额为138.47亿美元,连续6年占全国出口创汇总额的四分之一左右,居全国各行业出口之首。改革开放10多年来,纺织品年出口创汇额增长了3倍多,衣着类商品年零售额提高了2倍多,占全国消费品零售额的六分之一。
Textile industry is China’s traditional pillar industry and has a long history. Since the 40 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, China has now become the world’s major textile producer. In 1990, the total output value of China’s textile industry was 136.1 billion yuan, and the export value of textiles was 13.847 billion US dollars. It accounted for about one-fourth of the total foreign exchange earned in exports for six consecutive years, ranking the first in all industries in China. Over the past 10 years of reform and opening up, the amount of foreign exchange earned through textile exports has more than tripled, and the annual retail sales of clothing items have more than doubled, accounting for one-sixth of the country’s retail sales of consumer goods.
