From October 12 to October 14, 1998, the 3rd Life Science Young Scholar Symposium of the National Natural Science Foundation of China was held in Xi'an. The conference was hosted by the Fourth Military Medical University, Secretary-General Yuan Haibo of the NSFC, Sun Haiying, director of Shaanxi Science and Technology Commission, and Major-General Su Bo, president of the Fourth Military Medical University attended the meeting.
