林肯的对手道格拉斯说林肯是两面派,林肯这么回答:“If I were two-faced,would I be wearing this one?”(如果我有两张脸,我还会戴这张脸吗?)林肯长得比较丑,敢于调侃自己长得丑。Two-faced:两面派;虚伪的。道格拉斯可以这么回应:“Probably your other face is more homely.”(可能你那张脸更不好看。)
