Organized by China Investment magazine, experts and scholars from the State Development Planning Commission, the State Economic and Trade Commission, the China Investment Association, the Macroeconomic Research Institute of the State Development Planning Commission and relevant state ministries and commissions have identified 10 major events of China’s investment in 2000. These 10 major events are: (1) The central government decided to implement the strategy of developing the western region and started a number of large-scale projects such as the project of transporting natural gas from the west to the east and sending power from the west to the east.
