二战结束以来，随着亚太格局的转换，日本对日美安全条约中“远东条款”是否涵盖台湾的解释经历了从明确包括台湾、将台湾从“远东条款”中剔除到将台湾纳入“周边事态”范围的过程。这说明，日本对台湾的防卫政策是随亚太格局的转变而调整的。鉴于此，我们在处理台湾问题时，要尽量避免造成可能导致日本介入的海峡紧张局势，同时要在维护国家主权和民族尊严的前提下，妥善对待中美关系中的矛盾，尽可能地避免中美关系的进一步恶化，防止美国以及日本的对台政策进一步发展
