水稻是天台县主要粮食作物之一,占粮食播种面积的38.4%。天台县水稻生产以单季稻为主,单季稻年播种面积稳定在1万hm2左右。2010年天台县种子管理站引进多个单季稻新品种,通过大区对比试验,鉴定引进品种在本地的适应性、产量等,从而选出适宜本地种植的水稻新品种。
Rice is one of the main food crops in Tiantai County, accounting for 38.4% of the sown area of grain. Tiantai rice production is dominated by single-season rice, single-season rice planting area stabilized at about 10,000 hm2. In 2010, Tiantai Seed Management Station introduced a number of new varieties of single-cropping rice. Through the comparative experiments in large areas, the adaptability and yield of introduced varieties in the locality were identified, and new rice varieties suitable for local planting were selected.
