中国科学院院士钱临照,是我国著名的固体物理学家和科学史家。30年代末,他在中国首次公开介绍晶体位错理论。50年代,他为在我国推广位错理论作出积极贡献。1940年,他发表了《释墨经中之光学、力学诸条》一文,揭示我国在先秦时代的科学知识,为弘扬中华优秀文化作出重要贡献。1958年起,他任中国科学技术大学教授,曾兼任副校长(1980—1984年),为培养年轻一代倾注着自己的全部心血。1980年,他被选为中国电子显微镜学会和中国科学技术史学会的首任理事长,为发展中国的电子显微学和科学史事业作出众口皆碑的工作。他对科教事业忠贞不移,很重视科学道德教育。他襟怀坦白,平易近人,深受大家敬佩。
Qian Linzhao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is a famous solid state physicist and historian of science in our country. In the late 1930s, he first introduced the theory of crystal dislocation in China. In the 1950s, he made a positive contribution to the promotion of dislocation theory in our country. In 1940, he published an article entitled “Optical and Mechanical Articles in the Explaining of Ink,” revealing the scientific knowledge of our country in the pre-Qin era and making an important contribution to carrying forward the excellent Chinese culture. Since 1958, he has been professor at the University of Science and Technology of China and has served as vice president (1980-1984), devoting all his efforts to cultivating the younger generation. In 1980, he was elected as the first chairman of the Chinese Society for Electron Microscopy and the Chinese Society of History of Science and Technology to make a mark on the development of China’s electron microscopy and science history. He loyal to science and education career, attaches great importance to scientific and moral education. His honest, approachable, admired by everyone.
