Objective: To investigate the relationship between lymphatic vessel density (MLVD) and VEGF-C and lymphatic metastasis in gastric cancer. Methods: The expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C) and D2-40 labeled MLVD in 56 cases of gastric carcinoma and 18 cases of normal tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry. Analysis of the correlation between the two. Results: The positive rate of VEGF-C in gastric cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in normal gastric tissues (all P <0.05). The MLVD in gastric cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in normal gastric tissues (all P <0.05). The expression of VEGF-C, (P <0.05). The MLVD was correlated with the degree of differentiation of gastric cancer (P <0.05). The MLVD of VEGF-C positive gastric cancer was significantly higher than that of negative gastric cancer (P <0.05). Conclusion: The expression of VEGF-C and MLVD are related to lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer. VEGF-C is one of the effective indicators for predicting gastric lymph node metastasis.
