This paper introduces the research situation and experimental results of the additive methyl silicone to reduce the heat flux of the nitroxide-monodimethylhydrazine (UDMH) engine. The relationship between reducing the heat flux and improving the performance of a liquid rocket motor is discussed. The properties of the additive, methyl silicone, and the mechanism of reducing the heat flux in the thrust chamber with additives were described. The results of the analysis indicate that the viscosity of SiOC_2H_6 additive should be less than 13 cSt at 20 ° C. The addition of 1% by weight of silicone to UDMH results in a slight improvement in the propellant properties and a decrease in the total heat flux in the thrust chamber About 33%.
