英语中有大量句子在形式上是肯定的,但意义上却是否定的。肯定句的否定意义是通过词、词组、或整个句子表现出来的。这样的句子汉语译文常常是否定句。本文从以下几方面作以阐述。A.有些词(如:形容词、介词、动词、分词等)或者短语在肯定句子中含有否定的意义,翻译时应当注意汉语用否定句来表达。B.某些固定结构、句式以其肯定形式表达否定意义,如Anything but,But that(what),Butfor,Too…to等。C.某些肯定的句子,可以通过上下文、说话语气表达出否定的意义。D.有些习惯用语及惯用法常常以肯定形式表示否定意义。
A large number of sentences in English are formally affirmative, but they are negative in the sense of being. The negative meaning of positive sentences is expressed by words, phrases, or the whole sentence. Chinese sentences in such sentences are often negative sentences. This article is elaborated from the following aspects. A. Some words (such as: adjectives, prepositions, verbs, participles, etc.) or phrases have a negative meaning in affirmative sentences. Translation should be noted that Chinese is expressed in negative sentences. B. Some fixed structure, the sentence in its positive form to express negative, such as Anything but, But that (what), Butfor, Too ... to and so on. C. Some positive sentences, through the context, the tone of voice to convey the negative meaning. D. Some idioms and idioms often express negative meaning in positive form.
