Preoperative autologous blood donation (PABD) is the collection of patients’ own blood (whole blood or blood components) several weeks or even months prior to surgery for use during surgery; it may also be collected during certain disease remissions A method of transfusion that uses its own whole blood or blood components as necessary [1]. Article 15 of the “Blood Donation Law” promulgated on October 1, 1998 clearly stipulates that the state advocates and guides autologous blood storage of patients undergoing elective surgery.
