中国著名生物学家贝时璋教授,1903年生于浙江镇海,早年留学德国,1928年获土宾根大学自然科学博士学位。曾任中科院生物物理研究所所长、中国动物学会和中国生物物理学会理事长,并任《中国大百科全书》总编辑委员会副主任等。 贝时璋教授曾提出细胞重建学说:在生物体内,除细胞分裂外,以某种物质为基础,在合适的环境条件下也可一步步自行组成完整的细胞。他的这一重大发现,在理论和实际应用上有极其重要的意义。 现在贝老虽已94岁,除听觉吃力外,思维相当敏捷,语言表达也非常流畅。他表示,要继续为所钟爱的科学事业拼搏。
Professor Ba Shizhang, a famous Chinese biologist, was born in 1903 in Zhenhai, Zhejiang Province. He studied in Germany in his early years and received a doctorate in natural science from Tubingen University in 1928.
