伴随着华美戏剧在全球多元文化连续性、继承性的发展进程,1997年,黄哲伦创作了他“迄今为止最成熟的戏剧”《金童》。[1]《金童》这部剧作,由虚幻与现实世界相互叠加,构成两条发展脉络。其中一条脉络以虚幻的形式,讲述1918年冬天到1919年春天发生在中国东南部靠近福建厦门码头一个名叫翁廷彬的菲籍华侨祖居村庄中的故事;一条脉络讲述当今现实生活中发生在美国曼哈顿唐人街的故事。两条故事线跨越时空交错叠映,虚实映衬,通过鬼魂阿安在剧情闪回中反复给儿子讲述她那身在其中的家
