Grand Marshal Marshal, the earliest Grand Marshal in the world, derives from Latin “Largest ” and “Main ”. The earliest Grand Marshal was awarded as commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the country or its allies as an honorary title, sometimes awarded to royal members and state activists. In 1569, King Charles VII of France granted the title of marshal to his brother Duke Angul. Since then, a total of about 30 people have been awarded the rank of generalissimo in various countries in the world. In Russia, the first to win the rank of generalissimo was the brilliant victorious warlord A.C. Shevardon at the end of the 17th century in the city of Azov. 1719 Russian Army ordinance formally states: Grand Marshal as the highest military rank of the Russian army. After the victory of the Soviet Patriotic War, on June 22, 1945, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet decided to set the rank of the Grand Marshal of the Soviet Union and to grant Stalin the next day.
