Dr. James Naismith invented basketball in Massachusetts in the United States in 1891. After 45 years, this sport has been extended to all countries in the world. In 1936, basketball officially became an Olympic Games event, so far, basketball opened its new chapter in history. As the birthplace of basketball, the United States basketball team made great achievements in the Olympic Games. In the 15 Olympic Games basketball games that have been held, the U.S. team participated in the 14th session and won 12 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal. A total of 111 games played, winning 109 games, negative 2 games, winning 98.2%. American basketball is worthy of the title of the birthplace of the world basketball.
