张敏杰的绘画可以视为他的版画艺术的自然延伸,无论是人物造型、动态或构图,基本的风格特征及造型问题都已由他的版画所解决。只是在《黄色的土地》和《人与龙》等作品中,由于色彩的引入而使得腰鼓舞、龙舞这些声势浩大的场景具有了更多的世俗化氛围,但这并不能改变张敏杰作品的基本特征,张敏杰的作品不是世俗化意义上的风俗民情,而有着更为深层的精神内涵。
