The mating behavior of Calliptamus italicus and the effects of temperature on the mating duration of Locusta migratoria were analyzed by insect behavior observer and outdoor feeding observation. The results showed that: (1) The mating behavior of Italian locusts includes two stages of encounter and mating. Encounter behavior includes avoidance, fighting and mating three types, including the fighting occurred in the encounter between male and male, male and a pair of adults are mating encounter situation. Escape and mating are more common in the female and female encounter, male and female encounter, the female and a pair of mating adults are met. Male males take the initiative in the mating process. The mating behavior of Italian locusts includes four processes of flexing, climbing back, holding and mating, with an average time of 11.25 ± 1.40 min. (2) The duration of initial mating between male and female (12.88 ± 0.67 min) was significantly longer than that of male and female (10.47 ± 0.39 min) (P <0.05). The mating of first mating female and mating male Duration (11.00 ± 0.75 min), no significant difference (P> 0.05) between the first mating and the female with mating experience (12.12 ± 0.67 min). (3) With the increase of temperature, the mating duration of locusts was shortened, the duration of mating was the longest at 27 ℃ (15.93 ± 2.25 min), and the difference was significant (P <0.05) between 42 ℃ and 42 ℃ The duration of mating was the shortest, 6.01 ± 0.43 min, which was not significantly different from the time of 36 ℃ (7.47 ± 0.52 min) (P> 0.05).
