The 42nd World Bank - International Monetary Fund Annual Meeting was held in Washington from September 29 to October 1. The annual meeting made progress in raising funds for these two organizations and helping developing countries to solve their debts. One of the important reasons is believed to be that both the industrialized and developing countries attending the meeting have adopted a more realistic attitude. This annual meeting was held under the circumstances that the growth of world economy and trade is sluggish, the debts of developing countries are heavy and the demand for funds is increasing. The issue of capital increase has become more than 150 countries this time
