钒钛磁铁矿是一种含有铁、钒、钛等多种有益元素的多金属共生矿,在我国有着广泛地分布。矿床规模巨大,资源丰富,它的开发与利用,对于我国国民经济的发展,具有重要的意义。一、我国钒钛磁铁矿资源的分布目前在我国发现的钒钛磁铁矿矿床(点),有几十处之多。主要分布在地台的边缘和地槽隆起带的长期活动的深断裂构造部位上,成矿母岩为富铁质的基性—超基性岩,从成因上来说属于晚期岩浆矿床。其中西昌—渡口(攀西地区)位于康滇地轴中部。在地质发展过程中,多旋回的褶皱及断裂活动十分强烈。导致了地下深部岩浆的浸入,造成本区颇具规模的钒钛磁铁矿等矿床,成为我国钒钛磁铁矿集中分布的地区。该矿带沿着安宁河构造断续分布,长达300公里。现已查明的攀枝花等矿区都是特大型矿床,总储量占全国同类型铁矿储量的90%。
