Engineering practice and laboratory tests have shown that the collapse of the grain structure can easily occur after the chalk of the oil field meets water. Therefore, based on its unsaturated characteristics and cementation, this paper explores the intrinsic mechanism of water collapse in the oil-bearing chalks.
