In recent years, there have been several new points of view in the world heritage area that have drawn particular attention. First, the cultural landscape; second, cultural diversity; third, a linear cultural heritage, and said “cultural line ”; Fourth, integrated protection of physical and intangible cultural heritage. The editor of “China Heritage” told me to write an introductory passage for the first phase of 2005. At a time of hesitation - given the recent inscription on world heritage - is enough - the main topics of this issue are found: Zheng He’s Western, Desert, Ancient Tea Horse Road, Middle East legacy. Hotlines and junctions, as well as the unique natural environment that human beings are experiencing, precisely correspond to the latest trend of the international community. This gave me the leeway to play the leeway.
