第十五届国际艾滋病大会7月11日至19日在泰国首都曼谷召开。在为期6天的会议上,来自全球160多个国家和地区的15000多名政府与非政府组织代表围绕“全面共享”这一主题,就全球艾滋病防治前景、保障艾滋病患者的权益、加强国际合作控制艾滋病传播等问题举行了数十场研讨会。会议发表的行动声明指出,各国领导人应承担起艾滋病防治工作的重任,制定相关政策与法律,在财力与人力资源方面加大对艾滋病防治项目的支持。声明同时强调,要切实落实保护艾滋病患者权益的政策,减少社会对艾滋病患者的歧视。声明最后呼吁各国政府加强与国际组织及社会赞助机构的合作,共同应对艾滋病的挑战,在尊重人权的基础上继续采取行动,科学防治艾滋病。
The 15th International AIDS Conference was held in Bangkok, Thailand from July 11 to 19. At the 6-day conference, over 15,000 government and NGO representatives from more than 160 countries and regions around the world shared the theme of “sharing all together,” on the global AIDS prevention and control, and safeguarding the rights and interests of AIDS patients. Several decades of seminars have been held on international cooperation in controlling the spread of AIDS. The statement of action issued at the meeting pointed out that leaders of all countries should shoulder the heavy responsibility of AIDS prevention and control, formulate relevant policies and laws, and increase support for AIDS prevention and control projects in financial and human resources. The statement also stressed the need to effectively implement policies to protect the rights of AIDS patients and reduce social discrimination against AIDS patients. The statement finally called on all governments to strengthen cooperation with international organizations and social sponsors to jointly tackle the challenges of AIDS and continue to take actions to prevent and treat AIDS on the basis of respect for human rights.
