中国草地资源丰富。有18大类、38亚类、1000多种类型的各类草地,拥有天然牧草植物7000多种,引入栽培草种也有数百种之多,中国拥有60亿亩草原及草山、滩地、著名科学家钱学森于上世纪80年代提出立草为业,目前中国的草业已初见雏形。
