AT & T, the nation’s leading telecom operator, has long dominated the U.S. long-haul and local phone markets. In the past 20 years of development, AT & T has experienced many splits, mergers and reorganizations, and its mobile business has undergone many changes. However, after many changes, AT & T’s mobile business has achieved impressive results, making it the second-largest mobile operator in the United States. As of the end of 2009, AT & T Wireless had 85.12 million customers; AT & T Mobile revenue reached 53.6 billion US dollars, up 21.1% over the same period of last year; and mobile revenue accounted for 43.6% of AT & T’s total revenue, an increase of 7.9% over the same period of last year. AT & T’s mobile business revenue maintained the good growth trend, with its customers, tariffs, data services, terminals and other efforts are inseparable.
