Sewing 100 衲 is a family manual activity carried out by women who come together to exchange their own stories. Feminists argue that Paige is helped to establish and maintain a feminine culture that exists as an isolated individual, with its own language code and approach. In the patchwork process, women reconstructed their identities. Many of the works by Canadian writer Margaret Atwood have shown the shadow of a hundred. Her works are re-written in history and symbol of female solidarity. In addition, some of Atwood’s novels’ writing strategies are also inspired by the process of sewing the hundred-quilts. Atwood through the interpretation of the hundred is to show readers the power of female culture.
