别具一格的风景明珠大慈岩位于浙江省建德县城南24公里的檀村乡境内,在金华到岭后铁路线上的排塘站北1公里,又紧靠白沙至兰溪的公路。(见图)交通方便,环境幽静,气候温和,是富春江-新安江区中一颗别具一格的风景明珠。附近庙宇、殿堂、牌楼、碑刻丰富,名胜古迹很多。据《寿昌县志》记载:“大慈岩,著名形胜之寺,傍岩建筑,岩高数百丈,四面玲珑,宛如民屋。元大德年间,临安人莫子渊,弃家于此,琢石为佛,号曰‘大慈’。……来岩朝拜者,络绎不绝,香火异常
