唐小兵出生于湖南衡阳的农村,先在长沙湖南大学读本科,再远赴上海华东师范大学就读于许纪霖先生门下,获得博士学位后留在该校历史系任教。在此略述作者的简历,是因为他从内地农村背景到如今上海学院知识分子的双重身份,有助于说明他这本文集为什么如此关注知识
Tang Xiaobing was born in the rural areas of Hengyang, Hunan Province. He first studied undergraduate at Hunan University in Changsha and then went to Shanghai Huadong Normal University to study under Mr. Xu Jiling. After getting his doctorate, Tang left the post in the department of history. The author’s resume is sketched out here because his dual identity from the rural background of the Mainland to the intellectuals of Shanghai Academy today can help illustrate why he is focusing this knowledge on this essay
