倪波、荀昌荣主编,十几位教授学者合作编写的《理论图书馆学教程》,以下简称《理论》)由南开大学出版社付梓问世了,这是图书馆学领域引人瞩目的开拓之作。 我国图书馆学产生于近代。特别是近年来,我国图书馆学研究有了长足的进展,其论著在内容体系上,大多理论图书馆学与应用图书馆学的内容相伴随,两相交织,因而理论缺乏深度,如何从理论高度阐述图书馆学的基础理论,从而,“使学生能纵绾图书馆学的精髓,横览图书馆学的各个分支学科,提高学生的思维能力,借以推动图书馆学专业课程设置的变革”(本书序),
