Researchers at the University of Liège in Belgium have found that the physiological mechanisms triggered by humans on the verge of death can make people feel more acute, not only in the imagination of past events in personal experiences, but also in the case of real events. Seeing the presence of light in front of you, feeling you are crossing a tunnel, or feeling yourself being detached from your body, these feelings are typical of a so-called “near-death experience” phenomenon. This is the feeling that one may experience when one is about to die. Is this the cause of the human brain, or is it a physiological defense mechanism or an illusion? These phenomena have long been circulated around the world and have led to a variety of speculations
