囊肿是指在颌骨内或软组织内生长的,含有流体或半流体内容物的囊状肿物,是发病率很高的疾病。颌骨虽是全身骨骼一部分,但与身体其它处骨质尚有不同,颌骨即有骨质构造,又有发育成熟的牙齿组织。在颌骨发育同时,于其中亦伴有牙齿的发育,因此有些发生于长骨的疾病,可不发生在颔骨内,而颌骨的牙源性病变,亦不能发生在其他骨质处。颌骨囊肿的成因,一部分与发育的牙齿和牙齿的病变有关。另一部分则与面部胚胎发育时上皮残余有关。本文仅就颌骨囊肿有关的几个问题加以综述。
