北钢炼铁公司现有烧结机32m~23台,36m~22台,总烧结面积168m~2;共有4座350m~3高炉,近年来,北钢炼铁公司集中力量和资金加速技术改造工作,加快科技兴企的步伐,仅2000年就进行了20项技术改造。总投资2900万元,年获得经济效益2300万余元。主要技术改造项目有:大风机改造、喷吹系统改造、烧结机改造及墙漏风技术的应用、高炉采用国际先进的自动化控制系统、组建烧结实验室。经过不断的技术改造与创新,各项主要技术经济指标达到或超过了全国同类型高炉年平均水平,部分指标进入全国先进行列,本年度高炉利用系数月份单炉最高达到了3.752t′(m~3·d),全年生铁产量有望突破160万吨大关。
