Since 2007, I have joined another teacher in the Department of Chinese to open a research course on literary periodicals to graduate students. This course is divided into two parts: the study of modern literary periodicals before 1949 and the study of contemporary literary periodicals after 1949, and I am responsible for the study of contemporary literary periodicals. In addition to emphasizing the history of the development of newspapers and periodicals, this course focuses on guiding students to read the original works and makes up for the shortage of Chinese graduate students’ understanding of history, especially the contemporary history after 1949.
