Earlier this year, a staggering strange thing happened in Rome’s largest theater. While many prominent figures and artists gathered here to watch Fellini’s new film “Golden and Fred,” the premiere, the screen suddenly interrupted, even appeared in the screen for up to twenty minutes of advertising books and periodicals. It is surprising that things have actually been on the national television station, which has always had a good reputation, and shortly after promises to cut advertising hours in prime time. The famous directors Rossi and Wozamulle were very angry and the former state television leader Zarvoli sitting on the side of the three ministers looked ugly; while Fellini himself was silent. Because he knows that when a private television station broadcast the film, he planned to delete the first three-hour version for two hours and lost it far in excess of twenty minutes. The problem lies in the competition between public and private television stations. There are two major TV companies in Italy: one is the national television station “Radio Italy.”
