Science Network 2016-11-09 Report: Digital media in today’s society may be very common, but sometimes the electronic display is not so popular. Ordinary office workers still print thousands of pages a year, while large posters and banners are still the norm in conventions and trade shows. In an effort to reduce the environmental impact of producing and shipping large quantities of paper, researchers have developed a rewritable paper-like surface that can be printed and erased 40 times without loss of resolution. This flexible film is made of tungsten oxide and a water-soluble polymer. Among them, tungsten oxide is used for smart windows that can adjust the light and heat that pass through.
