回顾党的老一辈新闻工作者所走过的艰辛而光辉的历程,我们能够真切地感受到他们在当时的历史发展进程中所发挥的巨大作用,所产生的积极影响,从而更深刻地理解自己作为新闻工作者所继承的那份光荣与责任。1949年1月底,和平解放北平的谈判已经基本结束。在大军正式入城的前两天,1月31日,中国人民解放军的第一批部队从西直门进入了北京城,当时仍叫北平。随着这支部队入城、穿着军装的为数不多的地方干部里,就有《人民日报》的部分领导和干部,他们肩负着中共中央机关报的工作
