The State Securities Commission, the People’s Bank of China and the State Economic and Trade Commission have made provisions a few days ago to prohibit state-owned enterprises and listed companies from speculating on stocks. Regulations require: (1) State-owned enterprises may not speculate on stocks, may not provide funds to other institutions to speculate on stocks, or use the State Bank’s credit funds to trade stocks. In these Provisions, speculation in stocks refers to buying and selling stocks within the time limit prescribed by the competent department of the State Council.
