杨树烂皮病在我国分布广,为害重,是杨树的主要干部病害之一。前人报道杨树烂皮病的致病菌为Cytospora chrysosperma,最近发现C.ambiens Sacc. 也能引起此病。经人工接种证明柳烂皮病菌C.chrysosperma、桃树烂皮病菌C. leucostoma容易感染美杨和加拿大杨,梨烂皮病菌C. ambiens对美杨和加拿大杨也有较弱的感染。杨树烂皮病为害轻重取决于环境条件的影响,凡是使植株生长衰弱的各种因子均能导致杨树烂皮病的发生,特别是干旱、冻害和不良的土壤等诱导因子,均能引起植株衰弱而发生病害。杨树品种之间对烂皮病的抗病性不同,青杨及青杨杂种较抗病,其他不抗旱和不耐寒的品种较感病。
