The development of the offshore industry on a world-wide basis has given rise to thegrowing demand for a good knowledge and understanding of the ocean wave environment.In addition to the accepted probabilistic and spectral methods of defining wave climate,attention has recently focussed on wave groups-a series of waves on enhanced amplitudeoccurring in close sequence.
