The secretary general of Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade said not long ago that in order to implement the recently passed Antitrust Law, the Indonesian government decided to form the KPPU (Anti-Monopoly Commission) and is expected to start operation by the end of this year before being approved by the president. The antitrust committee has supervisory powers over all commercial agreements and activities in the country and has the power to investigate the suspected monopoly transactions.
