口下颌骨-肢体发育不全综合征是非常罕见的先天性疾病,据英国一份未发表的资料估计每175000个活婴中有一例。主要表现为不同程度的肢体缺损、舌发育不全、和/或小颌畸形。病因尚不清楚,但曾提示某种在妊早期对血管之损害可能成为病因。在鼠的动物实验中发现,子宫动脉闭锁及子宫或子宫血管操作与双侧脑干缺血性损伤及肢体末端供血不足有关。有人认为,胎儿肢体的横断性缺损是由于血管堵塞所致。
