徐岳,字公河,东莱掖县(今烟台莱州)人,东汉末年著名的天文学家和数学家。徐岳一生致力于数学研究,广泛收集前人留下的算学书籍,深读精研,造诣很深。他认真总结了秦汉以来的计算技术发展的经验,吸取前人的智慧,发明了游珠算盘,既推动了当时算法知识的普及和社会生活的发展,又为计算技术的进一步发展奠立了基础。游珠算盘被认为是中国分档算盘的始祖,由此,徐岳获得了算盘发明人的殊荣。
Xu Yue, the word Gonghe, East Laiye County (now Yantai Laizhou) people, the famous Eastern Han Dynasty astronomer and mathematician. Xu Yue devoted his life to mathematics research, extensive collection of math books left by predecessors, deep study, profound attainments. He conscientiously summed up the development of computing technology since the Qin and Han dynasties, drawing on the wisdom of his predecessors, invented the Pearl River abacus, both to promote the popularization of the knowledge of the algorithm and the development of social life, but also for the further development of computing technology and laid the foundation . Abacus abacus is considered the first ancestor of Chinese sub-abacus abacus, thus, Xu Yue won the abacus inventor’s honor.
