全国一解放,中国科学社首先在北京和中华自然科学社、中国科学工作者协会及东北自然科学研究会联合发起,向党中央及政府建议,召开全国自然科学工作者代表会议。这个代表会议于1950年8月在北京清华大学举行,结果组织了全国自然科学专门学会联合会(简称科联)和全国科学技术普及协会(简称科普)。中国科学社成员中不少人当选为科联、科普的委员。上海的代表返沪后,任鸿隽担任了上海科联主任委员,张孟闻任上海科联宣传委员会主任委员;卢于道任上海科
As soon as the whole country was liberated, China Science Society first launched a joint conference with the Chinese Natural Science Association, the Chinese Association of Science Workers and the Northeast Natural Science Research Association in Beijing to recommend to the CPC Central Committee and the government and hold a meeting of the National Natural Science Workers. This conference was held in Tsinghua University, Beijing in August 1950, resulting in the organization of the National Federation of Natural Science Societies and the National Science and Technology Popularization Association. Many members of the Chinese Science Society were elected as members of the CST and Popular Science. After Shanghai’s representatives returned to Shanghai, Ren Hongjun served as the chairman of Shanghai Alliance and Zhang Mengwen was the chairman of Shanghai Alliance’s propaganda committee.
