Host infection of hepatitis B virus (HBV), the body’s ability to remove viruses, disease progression and different clinical outcomes in addition to the virus itself factors, largely depends on the genetic background differences between individuals. The study of HBV susceptibility factors for revealing HBV infection and post-infection outcome is of great significance. This review summarizes the progress of HBV infection-related genes in recent years, focusing on the progress of human leukocyte antigen (HLA), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5), mannan binding lectin (MBL), the relationship between MHC class Ⅱ transactivator (CⅡTA) gene polymorphisms and HBV infection, and the relationship between HBV genomic differences and HBV infection, and the prospect of the research in these fields are prospected.
